These small hooded figures have haunted the edges of my sketchbook for years. In a clay class I found the materials to make them in 3 dimensions. Stoneware clay makes a satisfying shape and weight in the palm of the hand. I left the center hollow so that I can add a symbol for things that feed a sense of renewal. Water,birds, trees, a spiral moving in and out. The phases of the moon, dark to full. The Center Holds what brings renewal
